If we cannot take your measurements ourselves in person, we will provide you with a measuring guide during the consultation process.

Our hand-sewn kilts, leather kilt belts and sporran belts are all made to measure, so it is important you provide us with the correct measurements of the wearer and follow our measuring guidelines accurately.

Please note that mens’ trousers sizing can be quite different from kilt sizing. Your kilt, kilt belt and sporran belt will often measure larger than your trousers size and regular belts worn with trousers.

For best results please ask someone to help take your measurements for you and let us know if you are unsure or need any further assistance.

Our high quality products are bespoke and handmade especially for you. Prices will vary depending on materials used and time spent in the consultation, design and making process.

During consultation we will guide you on choosing the materials used in making your kilt, outfit and sporran. Selecting from the thousands of tartans can be overwhelming and we are here to guide you. We will help to focus your selection and provide samples so you can see the colours and feel the quality before you decide.

We think it is important to know who makes your clothes and want you to know where they are made. At The Kilt Experience, we are proud to say that we make your hand-sewn kilts and leather sporrans ourselves, here in Scotland. Our tweed waistcoat and jacket outfits are made by our traditional tailors, also in Scotland.

As a guide, light soiling can be removed by dabbing (not rubbing) with cold water using a clean cloth or sponge. More difficult stains can be removed by steaming using a clean damp cloth.

You can wash your kilt carefully by hand, or have it dry-cleaned.

Our Kilts, Outfits and Leather work are made to order so lead in times can depend on our workload. We will advise you on this during early discussions regarding your order.

If your kilt has ‘shrunk in the wardrobe’ or requires some TLC or a wee bit of maintenance, we can assess and advise what work can be done so that you can enjoy wearing your kilt again.

**Please Note: Due to current high demand for our hand-sewn kilts, we are unable to take on alteration and repair work**

The Kilt Experience Gift Vouchers can be used in part or full payment for our hand-sewn kilts, sporrans, outfits and for hire of our Professional Piper.
